FILMETS has also taken part as an evaluator of the finalist projects in the Focus Script with new international short film talents
FILMETS Badalona Film Festival has presented its next edition, the 50th, at the Cannes International Film Festival, the most prestigious festival in the world and which is being held in this French city until May 25th. FILMETS has been represented at this festival by its art director, Agustí Argelich. The 50th edition of FILMETS will take place from October 18th to 27th with screenings in Badalona, Barcelona and Sant Boi de Llobregat.
FILMETS has been present in two professional activities at the Marché du Film of Festival de Cannes which is the most representative market of the film industry.
FILMETS presence at the Short Film Corner
On Monday, May 20th, Agustí Argelich participated in the international short film meetings at the traditional Short Film Corner, along with representatives from other short film festivals and the professional short film sector. Along with the artistic director of FILMETS there were distributors, producers and directors of various short film festivals around the world. It is worth highlighting the presence of representatives from the following festivals: Clermont-Ferrand, Berlinale, Winterthur, Dok Leipzig, Montreal and Guanajuato.
Jury of the prestigious Focus Script
The art director of FILMETS participated as an evaluator of the finalist projects of the prestigious Focus Script section, with new international short film talents on Tuesday, May 21st. Focus Script, as part of the Festival de Cannes creates new links with film and visual arts schools, as well as with short film professionals attending the Cannes Festival.
The 50th edition of FILMETS Badalona Film Festival was presented in both the Short Film Corner and the Focus Script.

There in Cannes, the artistic director of FILMETS, Agustí Argelich, has declared that “it is a privilege for FILMETS to be in Cannes, the most important film festival in the world, and to be able to present the 50th edition to this industry which is represented here at the International Film Festival of Cannes. I have been able to see how, distributors, producers and directors of short film industry are really focused on participating in the great film events”.
