Besides the Official Section, the Festival offers a series of parallel activities under OFF FILMETS. A series of sessions aimed at the young audience, as well for directors and professionals. In this session we will discuss the most relevant case studies of the use of AI in the field of fiction: what they have done, how they have done it, what has been the result… This session is part of the Clúster Audiovisual de Catalunya’s Observatori Switch, a project that observes and identifies what are the new digital technologies of audiovisual acceleration and proposes a critical reflection on its impact.Tuesday, October 22nd at 11 am.

STOP MOTION ANIMATION MASTERCLASS WITH EDUALD ROJAS
Eudald Rojas is an artist specialized in the stop motion animation technique. “Pobre Antonio”, the short film he co-directed as his master’s degree final project, was selected in more than 80 festivals around the world (including FILMETS) and has won several awards and recognitions. Currently, he combines commissions (in which he performs all the processes) with specific tasks in larger projects. He also teaches stop motion workshops for people of all ages.

ROLAND NGUYEN
As Head of Short Films (at France 3 then France Télévisions) for 20 years, he created Libre Court, the weekly slot for Shorts, and La Nuit du Court Métrage. In 2008 he founded the Prix France Télévisions du Court Métrage. Former active member of the Academy of the César, he used to sit in several Regional Cinema Commissions (Clermont-Ferrand, Marseille and Nantes). Now independent consultant, he helps authors, directors, producers in improving their projects. He was invited to join several international juries like Geneva, Santiago of Compostela, Montreal or Toronto. He is the President of the annual Fête du court co-founded with Julie Gayet in 2015. Under the pen name Roland MAN he published three novels and several poetry works. Now he is finalizing a collection of Haiku poems.ESTHER CASAS ROURA
Esther Casas Roura is a celebrated filmmaker known for blending metaphorical storytelling with animation. After transitioning from a career in Molecular Biology in Barcelona, she moved to New York and became a filmmaker, establishing Claymaniak Studios. Esther directed and produced «Check Date, An Underdog Love Story» (2008), «Creamen» (2013), which won 12 film awards, and «Flocky» (2024). She is now working on her first feature «Tao», bridging her dual identities as a scientist and storyteller.MARC-HENRI WAJNBERG
Writer, director, actor and producer. His productions are eclectic: he produced 3000 very short films – including the very famous collection of Claps, broadcast internationally. His short film Le Réveil with Jean-Claude Dreyfus was awarded at Cannes and received 22 international prizes. He directed and produced many documentaries including Oscar Niemeyer, an architect committed to his century, awarded in several international festivals. He coproduced a film by Lars von Trier: The Five Obstructions and directed feature films like Just Friends, Kinshasa Kids or I’m a change (2022). He has been working with street children in Kinshasa for ten years. He has made several films on this subject: the feature film Kinshasa Kids (2020) selected in Venice, Toronto or Busan was his first virtual reality film. He maintains contact with the street children who collaborated on his films, and tries to get them off the streets.Friday 25th October 4 p.m.
